Cooks Fantastic Fours Christmas Program

Another bittersweet moment today...Luke and Olivia's last Christmas program at Cooks Preschool. This year, since they are in the "big classroom", they were randomly assigned parts as part of the show. Luke was a cow and Olivia was a lamb. They did absolutely wonderful and never once seemed intimidated by the large crowd. As Olivia was coming down the aisle, she blew me a kiss, which totally melted my heart. When Luke spied us in the audience, he smiled so big and waved his cute little hand. Moments I'll treasure forever!

Cookie Decorating

Good friends and neighbors, Heidi and Brad, invited a few friends over for a Christmas cookie decorating afternoon. Oh, what fun the kids had! Each child got a few cookies to cover with frosting, sprinkles, gumdrops and more! They had a fantastic time, and hearing the room filled with laughter of kids is awesome! This is truly a magical time of year!

5 Year Check Up

Luke and Olivia had their 5 year check up in December. Unfortunately they had to get 4 shots each this visit, which were the shots they would need for kindergarten. It's always hard on a mommy's heart to see their kids in pain, but the tears passed pretty quickly and they are a necessary evil. They are all up to date on their vaccinations and won't need any more until the are around 11 years old. They also did the eye chart for the first time (which consisted of signs) and they both passed!

Before and after pics of the dreaded shots:

Here are their measurements:

Luke:
Weight: 38 pounds
Height: 42.5"
Blood Pressure: 98/46
BMI: 14.79 kg/m2

Olivia:
Weight: 34 pounds
Height: 40.5"
Blood Pressure: 100/54
BMI: 14.57 kg/m2

Dr. Colyer said they were right on track developmentally and doing great!

Frozen on Ice

Olivia LOVES all things Frozen, especially Elsa, and Luke loves Olaf. I have to admit, he is a pretty funny snowman! So when we found out Frozen on Ice was coming to Greensboro, we thought it would be a fun birthday outing. The kids were mesmerized by the skaters, and since they already knew the story, it was pretty easy for them to follow along. I couldn't bring my good camera in, but we snapped some photos on our cell phones to remember the day!

Party time!

We thought we would have separate parties for Luke and Olivia this year, but since their birthday fell near Thanksgiving and we are taking them to Frozen on Ice on Sunday, that only left one day that made sense for their party. So we decided to do a joint party at Chuck E Cheese. They LOVE going to that place and can play for hours. They each picked some friends to invite and we had some family join the celebration as well! Luke had a dinosaur cupcake cake and Olivia had an Elsa cupcake cake. They were full of giggles and smiles the entire time!!!
