For the past few years, we have tackled the Maize Maze near our house. It's always tons of fun and we always see if we can beat our time from previous years. I use the term "we" lightly as it's mainly Dan that finds the path out! The kids and I just follow along and look at the corn stalks :) This year we got out in record time of 39 minutes; not sure if we'll be able to beat that!
Fall is upon us; my absolute favorite season of the year!
One rainy Sunday we went to Hodges Pumpkin Patch with two other friends that have twins. We met through the Moms of Multiples group and have gotten to be friends. It's nice to be able to talk with other parents of multiples! Melinda has twin boys and Olivia has twin girls. With our boy/girl twins, it's a pretty cool group!
We walked through the pumpkin patch, inspected EVERY pumpkin to see if it was the PERFECT one :) and then had lunch with everyone. Even though it was chilly and drizzly (or drool y as Olivia says), it was a fun time!
Every year Cook's does a fundraiser for the preschool to help support their activities, such as farm day and space camp. The kids ride tricycles for donations. It has always been a great event, even though the kids are starting to outgrow the trikes just a little!
What a bittersweet day-Luke and Olivia's last first day of preschool at Cooks. We have thoroughly enjoyed the time spent there thus far and we are looking forward to their last year there before kindergarten (sniff sniff). The kids will go 4 days a week (Monday-Thursday) from 9:30am-1:00pm. They will go through the "tunnel" for drop off and pick up-no more walking them inside. They will eat lunch in a separate room from their classroom and will go to "centers" throughout the day. These policies are all to encourage their independence before "real" school starts.
Luke and Olivia really do love going to preschool, and learn lots while having fun with their friends. I miss them when they are there, but the time away gives me time to work, run errands and get used to them being in school for even longer amounts of time. I know this year is going to go by extra quickly, so I'm trying to enjoy the little moments, especially how excited they are when they see my car pull up for pick up! They jump up and down, wave and say "mommy's here, mommy's here." Be still my heart!
I know, I know....recommendations are to start taking little ones to the dentist as early as one/two years old. But we knew there was no way Luke and Olivia were going to get anywhere near that chair! ;) Now that they are almost 5, it was time for them to make a visit. A good friend our ours, Stacy, is a dentist and was happy to have them come to her office. The kids did wonderful and didn't get scared at any point. We continue to be so proud of our brave kiddos!
