4 1/2 year pics

The weather was beautiful so we did a quick photo session with the kids. We wanted to include some things that represent them at this age. For Luke it's trucks and for Olivia it's tutu's and dance.

Oak Island

In May we went to Oak Island with some our best friends. It is always one of our favorite trips as the kids so enjoy playing together. As the kids have gotten older, they have come to love the beach more and more. Luke loves to dig on the waters edge and Olivia likes to go in the water with Daddy (I stay on the edge with Luke!). We look forward to our next trip!

Olivia's first dance recital

In May, Olivia had her very first dance recital with Ms. Rhonda's school of dance. It was held in a big auditorium in Lincolnton, NC. Olivia absolutely LOVED being on stage and had no fear at all! Her group did 3 dances, and she is looking forward to continuing with dance for at least another year!

Last day of Tremendous Three's

It is so very hard to believe another year of preschool has come and gone. I still vividly remember the first day they started two years ago.

They have gone from being walked into school to being dropped off. Wearing diapers to being potty trained. They have learned to walk quietly in a single file line, share toys with friends, write their name and most of the letters. Most of all, they have learned what it's like to be part of a group and I couldn't be more proud of how well behaved they are! Ms. Karen, Ms. Jessie and Ms. MelMel have been wonderful to our little ones and have helped them develop so much over the past year. The teachers always brag about what good kids Luke and Olivia are, and while as parents we know that, it's always good to hear :)

They will start a 6 week summer camp in June, but for the next month we get to enjoy not packing lunches and needing to be anywhere by a certain time. I cherish our lazy mornings, especially since we have less of them the older they get.

Unfortunately our end of the year picnic got rained out, so we ended up having lunch with some friends at Chick Fil A. It was another memorable day. I can't even think that this time next year they will be graduating pre-K in preparation for kindergarten. Lots of happy tears that day....

Happy Mother's Day

Mother's Day started with a celebration at Cook's Playschool. The kids had been practicing for weeks to sing us three songs. They also made cards and place mats for us and hosted a Mother's Day tea complete with cookies. Then we got to play on the playground and see them interact with their friends. I must admit, I got a little teary eyed seeing them stand in front of me, so proud of themselves and proud to be my Lukester and Olive. I love these two wonderful kids more than I could ever put into words!!!

Sunday was Mother's day, and it was perfect! I got to spend it with Dan and the two reasons I get to celebrate Mother's Day! We had a nice breakfast as a family, went to the playground and then had a late lunch at Chillfire. The kids got dressed up and had a "fancy" meal with us. Then we played outside until it was time for bath and bed. I couldn't think of a better way to spend the day!

Thanks to Luke and Olivia for the privilege to be their mommy!
